Posted on Sep 20th, 2008 by Eli : Swami Eli

This blog is a contunuation to my previous blogs. The audio rendition of some of the mantras and both the hymns are here for listening pleasure.

Your footprints, in the form of comments would act as my motivation to keep blogging more.

My heart is singing!  My heart is singing!!

And I want to say: moooooore, but slowly!, such beautiful images so fleeting so much to absorb.  Yet this is not merely about the images, but the sound.  OMG the sounds, do they not reverberate down my bones?  And the words:  in the beginning there was The Word.  Thought.  Intention.  The Rigveda Nasadiya Sukta, concerned with cosmology and the origins of the universe, tells us that the first poet-seers found the bond of being within non-being with their heart's thought…they searched their hearts with wisdom..to know that which is kin and that which is not (!)…and they have stretched their cord across the void, and know... what is above and below.

Goosebumps!  Whence it all came, how creation happened, who knows?  Seems like the  Rigveda points in a direction:  the heart knows.  Yes yes, maybe I force this, doesn't matter.  A knowing exists within you/me/us.

Wow.  Thank you, Eli.  deep bows.  Peace, and oceans of love!

Hey Eli, thanx for posting all these lovely sounds…

I posted a few thoughts on the subject of shabd here

On my first holiday with Tam in the Lake District we were blessed with stormclouds and, wanting to show off, i sat down to sing the Gayatri mantra 108 times to scud the clouds away..”Stupid magic…enjoy the rain” was what she said and she tramped off leaving me to my Gayatri……after 108 renditions, i open my eyes and the sun is shining….for about 4 seconds…then it rained again…..

Maybe I drove the clouds away for 4 seconds but I learned somehting about humility given that it took me about 4 hours to catch her up and i wuz deprived of her illustrious company.

Tam is standing over me as I write laughing heartily…she remembers this incident well.

Blessings, Jon x

Lars, Claudia, Jeannie, Jon, Nicole…Thank you all for your warm footprints.

Jon, in your typical style, you discuss very deep concepts (like  Quote ”Now sound has a vibration which is called spanda...and this is to be distinguished from the meaning or signifier-aspect of the sigh…spanda is a key concept in Kashmiri Shaivism where the Absolute is thought ” unquote) …so easily and make it fun reading too… I wish I had your talent…I loved your blog.

Lars, great link to OM..you have added the link to most Important Veeja Mantra …

With the two cross links from Jon and Lars, I feel that we have created a shared pool of light… the very essence of Gaian spirit.

My most humble and sincere thanks to everyone.
